Q. What are the fees for the courses?

A. The fees currently set for all 12- week live courses that we are offering is $69 which are arguably the most competitive fees in the world for online study and you may compare with other institutes to verify.  This is paid using the paypal platform.

Q. How do I know what the equivalent course fee is in my currency?

Q. If I am unable to start a course due to some extenuating circumstances, will you provide a refund of course fees?

A. In order to keep course fees highly competitive and keep administrative costs down, we do not offer refunds, but we can offer you credit in an equivalent amount, which can be used on any of our courses within two years.

Q. Upon checking the fees, I found that they were extremely affordable. Is there a hidden catch to the prices?

A. No. Cordoba Academy strives to keep costs to a minimum so that we are able to pass these savings on to you, as we genuinely want as many people to study with us as possible.

Q. Are course fees transferable to anyone else?

A. In order to be flexible, we allow course fees to be transferred, but only between spouses and siblings.

Q. I cannot afford the course fees, but I desperately need to improve my knowledge. Can you help?

A. All Cordoba Academy courses have places reserved for deserving students. If you genuinely cannot afford the reasonable course fees charged by CA, then please email support@Cordobaacademy.com for an application form.

Q. Are there any discounts on the course fees?

A. CA course fees are already very reasonable; however, we do have four types of discounts that help you maximize your potential to save:

Family discount. We offer a 10% discount for all members of the same family. For example, if a husband and wife both sign up, each of them saves 10%. Do your duty as commanded in the Holy Quran (6:66), “O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire (Hell)” and get the best of both worlds.

Loyalty discount. If you finish all parts of a course with us and wish to continue on another program, you can benefit from a 20% percent loyalty bonus off your next course.

Referral discount. We are sure that you will thoroughly enjoy and benefit from our classes, so if you recommend us to your friends, we will offer you 25% off the price of a course for each referral. In other words, if you refer four people, you earn a free course; not only are you rewarded in the Hereafter for encouraging people to learn, but you also benefit by being able to study for free.

Multiple course discount. If you are an avid student of knowledge who wants to study more than one course per week, we will reward you for your zeal by giving you a 10% percent discount on each course.

Q. Why does Cordoba Academy charge for the courses? Shouldn’t Islamic knowledge be free?

A. Ideally, we would like to offer our classes free of charge to all, since our objective is to elevate the Book of Allah and to inculcate the true teachings of Islam throughout society. However, in order for the Academy to continue operating successfully, offering you the quality you deserve at optimum levels, it would need to become self-financing. There are many reasons why a very reasonable fee is charged for the classes; they vary from increasing motivation and responsibility in students to the reasons found below.

Firstly, if you look at the fees charged you will find that they are extremely reasonable. If you calculate how much it would cost you in fuel and time to travel to a physical lecture, you would probably find that it would cost far more.

Secondly, members of the Cordoba Academy Faculty regularly conduct activities worldwide, at no cost whatsoever. However, if they are to continue the tradition of providing the high standard of quality in their teaching that they have become accustomed to, and the meticulous planning and preparation for lessons, they need to dedicate precious time that they would otherwise use to earn a livelihood. To enable them to make ends meet, we contribute a modest fee for their efforts.

Thirdly, the Baitul Maal (Islamic Treasury) used to not only provide for the living costs of the destitute, but also sponsor the services of scholars and even Muslim Caliphs like Abu Bakr and Umar (May Allah be pleased with them). As this institution no longer exists, the Ummah needs to improvise in order to meet these expenses.

Fourthly, there are those who consider taking payment for Islamic knowledge as Haraam or insincere, but the soundest opinion and that of the Imams Shafiee’, Maliki, Hanbali, and later generations of Hanafi scholars, is that it is permissible. Some have based it on this authentic hadith:

عن عبد الله بن عباس رضي الله عنهما قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم": إن أحق ما أخذتم عليه أجرا كتابُ الله" رواه البخاري

“The thing for which you most deserve to take payment is the Book of Allah.” (Narrated by al-Bukhari)

Finally, charging for the courses is an exception and not the rule. We at Cordoba Academy strongly believe that Islamic education is a right for all, including those who cannot afford it.
