Q. Do I have to be computer savvy to study these courses?
A. No, the software employed is very user-friendly. If you do encounter problems, we will arrange for a person from the technical team to contact and assist you.
Q. What hardware do I need to be able to join courses that Cordoba Academy (CA) offers?
A. Apart from a computer with Internet access, you will need to have a soundcard, a microphone and speakers.
Q. What software do I need to be able to join courses that CA offers?
A. To access the materials used during the course, you will need to have Microsoft Windows, Adobe Reader and either Microsoft Word or OpenOffice. These can be downloaded from:
Q. Which program do you use for the online learning, as it may be new to me?
A. We have chosen a very popular program which is tried and tested. Upon your acceptance, and before the start of the course, we will send you detailed information on accessing the program and if required, even arrange for a free tutorial on how to use the software. We value your time. We want to make sure that you make the best possible use of your time, and that you are ready for your course from the very first day.
Q. During the online class, my Internet was disconnected. How do I make up for what I missed?
A. This happens rarely, but if it occurs with you, then there is no need to panic. All lectures are recorded and can be sent out upon request. However, if you are on an Ijazah course, you will need to arrange a suitable time with your course mentor to revise the material that you may have missed. This service is offered once per course at no charge.
Q. My speakers and/or microphone are not working. What should I do?
A. First check that all the wires are connected, the devices are working and that the volume is tuned up. If this does not work do the following depending on your version of Microsoft Windows:
Click on ‘Control Panel’, then ‘Sound’, then ‘Playback’, then ‘Speakers’.
Alternatively, click on ‘Control Panel’, then ‘Sound’, then ‘Recording’, then ‘Microphone’.
