Synopsis of Work

=============

The work of the great Muhaddith Abdur Razzaq al-San'ani is one of the earliest and greatest extant contributions in the field of Tafseer and is based upon the methodology of al-Tafseer bi l-Ma'thur or expounding on the meanings of the Holy Quran through the primary sources and statements of the Sahabah & Tabi'een only.  This is in contrast to al-Tafseer bi l-Ra'y which is based upon scholarly opinion. 

Many Tafseer scholars such as Ibn al-Katheer and Al-Suyuti have narrated large parts of this work within their own works.

Al-Hafidh Hassan Haydar al-Wa'ili al-San'ani is one of the world's leading hadith specialists alive today and particularly renowned for his unrivalled mastery in memorisation of chains, biographies of narrators and the nuanced science of Ilal al-Hadith. He is recognised as one the world's leading authorities in the Sunan of Imam Al-Tirmidhi (ra) having penned an unprecedented 6 volume commentary on the chapter titles of Al- Tirmidhi's Sunan and is currently completing his 24+ encyclopaedic commentary on the work.
